UAEFIU participated in the 26th Egmont Group Annual Meetings (26–30 January, Tanzania), joining over 400 FIU representatives worldwide. The discussions highlighted the importance of secure information exchange, technological advancements including AI, and strengthened international cooperation in combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
UAEFIU contributed to multiple Egmont working group projects, including co-leading guidance on FIU funding and resources, supporting strategic intelligence best practices, and engaging in initiatives on TF risks and public-private partnerships. The delegation also took part in the MENA FIUs meeting and held bilateral discussions with counterpart FIUs.
